Overview

CS 3570 Advanced Topics in Human Computer Interaction (a.k.a. Advanced Topics in User Interface Design) is a graduate-level, research oriented seminar course to HCI research. The course covers the most recent research trend of the field. We will be focusing on state of the art topics such as mobile interfaces (including natural/gestural interfaces), social computing (including the analysis and visualization of large scale social websites, crowd sourcing, social games) and ubiquitous computing.

  • 25% Reading critique
  • 15% Paper presentations
  • 40% Project
  • 20% Participation, in class discussions

Assignments

The majority of the activities in this course will be reading, discussing and presenting research papers. A student taking this class needs to complete a group based project during the semester. There is no exams for this course.
